Understanding the effects of climate change on agricultural and forestry activities in order to better prepare for it. This is the goal of the research conducted under INRA’s AAFCC metaprogramme.
Adaptation of agriculture and forests to climate change
AAFCC aims to understand the combined effects of various global changes caused by climate change on agriculture and natural environments, and to consider adaptation strategies as well as their environmental and socio-economic consequences.
AAFCC Metaprogramme was officially launched by INRA in 2011 to face these challenges. It mobilizes multidisciplinary scientific expertise on adaptation to climate change and has so far supported more than 25 national and international research projects on annual and perennial crops, livestock, forests, biodiversity and water and soil resources.
